FCCISL to boost economic cooperation with Pakistan

High Commissioner of Pakistan in Sri Lanka Major General (R) Umar Farooq Burki HI, alongside Ms. Asmma Kamal, Trade and Investment Attache, held a meeting with the newly elected President of FCCISL Keerthi Gunawardane and Board of Directors.

The High Commissioner congratulated Gunawardane on his new appointment and reaffirmed his commitment to continue working closely with FCCISL and member trade bodies to further strengthen bilateral trade, joint ventures and economic cooperation between Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

A detailed discussion was held on various impediments to bilateral trade and formulating a strategy to overcome the same with joint efforts.

Gunawardane appreciated Sri Lanka's longstanding association and friendship with the business community of Pakistan and expressed the desire to further strengthen bilateral economic relations in the near future.
