BRC Stickers emerge ‘A’ division knock out champions

Burgher Recreation Club overcame CH and FC in a penalty shoot out 7/6 in the CHA knock out ‘A’ division final of the Pioneer Cup, organised and conducted by the Colombo Hockey Association, played at the Astro Turf, Reid Avenue Colombo 07, last Saturday.

In the Semi finals BRC edged out Old Senanayakians in a penalty shoot out 5/4 and CH & FC beat Old Nalandians by 2 goals to 1.

As both teams fielded some talented players, eventually the game ended in a nil all draw at the final whistle and the decision was a penalty shoot out to select the winner and BRC got the better of CH & FC by 7/6 to lift the Pioneer Cup Championship for the year 2022/2023.
