Trap gun death leads to suspicion

A farmer who was walking on his farm at Dimbuladeniya, Medagama, was shot and killed when a trap gun fired.

This incident had taken place on the night of day before yesterday.

The deceased is Mohammed Nassar (41), a resident of Kotabowa, Godigamuwa. Relatives of the deceased have lodged a complaint with the police saying that this death is suspicious since a resident of an adjacent land had been threatening the deceased with death.

Medagama Police said that an investigation is underway into this death but no suspects have been taken into custody yet.

Police have not yet been able even to discover who had set up the trap gun on the land of the deceased person.
