Three-way battle for Rugby League Title

Three top teams Kandy SC, Havelock SC and CR and FC have set up a three-cornered contest for the 2022/23 SLR Nippon Paint Inter-Club League Rugby Title after the completion of the fifth week of matches in the tournament.

In fact, the defending champions Kandy SC along with Havelock SC and CR and FC are in with a great chance of winning the League Title with just three points separating the trio in the latest points table.

The unbeaten Kandy SC continue to head the points table for the fifth successive week, but their rivals Havelock SC have cut the deficit to a mere three points while the CR and FC are trailing by four points.

The Park Club will also have an extra advantage as they have overtaken Kandy SC in the number of tries scored, having crossed the whitewash on 20 occasions – one more than their nearest rival.

CR and FC, of course, are well behind the number of tries scored compared with the two top teams but the lads from Longden Place have kept their chances alive having recorded four victories from their five outings.
