The Pettah Cosmetic Association has conducted a seven-a-side indoor cricket and six-a-side soccer tournament, Pettah Cosmetic League for the third consecutive year at the Club premises, Werahera, Borelasgamuwa recently.
There are twenty teams in the cricket tourney namely NR Kings, Black Caps, SLC Warriors, Lolane Lions, Pettah Worriers, Fanaa Kings, Pes Kings, Finsha, Shadows Cricket Club, AB Warriors, Port Warriors, Epic Blasters, EK 7, VS Strikers, Cringer’s, Sakura Kings, Pearl Kings, Golden Giants, No Fear, Rainbow Super Kings. The soccer tourney included Black Caps, FD United, CC Assassins, AB Warriors, Underground Warriors and Pettah United teams.
Champion team received Rs 100,000 cash prize and runners up team received Rs 50,000 cash prize along with trophies and medals. Individual trophies for Best Bowler, Best Fielder, Best Batsman, Best Catcher and Man of the Series were also received cash prizes at this tournament.
In the final of the cricket tournament Lolane Lions team captained by Mohamed Fahim became champions and in the soccer tournament Black Caps team captained by Mohamed Reishad emerged champions. President of the Pettah Cosmetic Association Lilantha Perera and Mohamed Naizer, Chairman, Hafsa Food City Private Limited were the chief guests at the award ceremony.
