Two more in Sandagala theft arrested

Two more suspects involved in the theft of the “Sandhagala” which was the only archeological sign related to the location of the Narendrasingha Palace in Kundasale were arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department yesterday.

The suspects are residents of Kundasale area. Investigations conducted by the Criminal Investigation Department have revealed that these two suspects had come to the place when the robbery took place and they had assisted in the robbery. These two suspects were arrested after surrendering themselves to the Tangalle police. So far, the CID has found the lorry that came to collect the Sandagala, as well as the Defender and the truck that came to take it, in Arupppola.
