Sri Lanka Rugby (SLR), in their attempt to bring about more professionalism to the game, has appointed veteran rugby administrator Shane Dullewa as a Non-Voting Member of SLR Executive Committee for the 2022/24 period.
Dullewa was a former Secretary of SLR in 2001 and 2010 and was Sri Lanka’s representative at the Asiad Rugby Union Exco Meeting held in Thailand in 2002.
He was also the Manager of the Sri Lanka Rugby Team for the IRB World Cup Qualifying rounds in 2002 having served as the Rugby Secretary of CH and FC in 1997/98, Gymkhana Club Secretary in 1996/99 and Gymkhana Chairman in 2010/12.
Dullewa is set to bring all his experience and will add more strength to the SLR Executive Committee as they look to bring about changes and new tournaments with a difference to High-Performance in both Men’s and Women’s rugby.
Dullewa is currently the Co-Chairman of SLR Tournament Committee and with his wealth of experience, SLR will exploit the possibilities of developing Inter-Schools, Clubs and Provincial Tournaments this year.
