Two gang robbers arrested in Katubedda

Moratuwa Police said that two members of an organised gang that use street prostitutes to hire three-wheelers and stop them at a deserted area and rob them, were arrested in Katubedda.

Police said that the suspects were arrested as villagers in the area had intervened to save a trishaw driver when the suspects tried to rob him.

Police had received several complaints of similar incidents in the recent past.

The arrested suspects are 24 and 23 years old ICE drug addicts, Police said.

The police said that these suspects are residents of Lunawa. The police said that the knife used in the robbery, the stolen mobile phone and the money were taken into custody.
