India under 19 women win by seven wickets

16-year-old leg spinner Prashavi Chopra had fine figures of 4 for 5 as India recorded an easy seven-wicket win over Sri Lanka with 76 balls to spare in the Super Six fixture of the ICC women’s Under 19 World Cup match played at Potchefstroom, South Africa yesterday.

It was a low-scoring game as Sri Lanka women were limited to 59/9 in 20 overs with skipper Vishmi Gunaratne (25) and Umaya Ratnayake (13) being the only batswomen to get double figures. The leggie Chopra had remarkable figures in her four-over spell while Mannat Kashyap took 2 for 16.

India reached the target (60 runs) in only 7.2 overs with seven wickets in hand.
