Maithripala had choice of three planes to return to Sri Lanka - Arsecularatne

Rienzie Arsecularatne PC yesterday stated at the Court of Appeal that the then President Maithripala Sirisena, who was in Singapore when the terrorist attacks took place on Easter Sunday, had three planes to come to Sri Lanka immediately, but he did not show interest in it.

He stated this when a petition filed by former President Maithripala   Sirisena requesting to annul the summons issued ordering him to appear in the Fort Magistrate’s Court in the case related to failing to prevent the Easter Sunday terrorist attacks was taken up in the courts.

This petition was called before the Appeal Court Bench consisting of Judges Sobitha Rajakaruna and Dhammika Ganepola. Arsecularatne PC was appearing for Rev. Fr. Cyril Gamini the complainant.
