Writer Vinnie Lionel Galahitiyawa (71) passed away yesterday at the Colombo National Hospital, after a brief illness.
Over a long period of time, he has authored many academic articles on artefacts and archeology for many national newspapers.
Vinnie also worked as an officer in charge of the Ratnapura National Museum. The body lies at No. 19, Nihathamanigama, Ayagama, and the last rites will be held at the Kalawana Crematorium today (24) afternoon.
