Schoolchildren learn road safety rules

A programme was held at Henegama National School recently to educate schoolchildren about traffic laws, the responsibility of road users and the correct first aid to be given in the event of a road accident.

Transport State Minister Lasantha Alagiyawanna participated as the chief guest of this programme, which was conducted by the National Council for Road Safety under the School Road Safety Programme.

A board with road and traffic signs was unveiled by the State Minister Alagiyawanna.

Principal Vijaya Kularatne, National Hospital Nursing Officer Pushpa Ramyani, Police Inspector Duminda Nayanapriya and National Road Safety Council Chairman Anton de Mendis were present.
