Price Formula to determine egg and poultry meat prices mooted

The Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Trade have jointly taken steps to prepare a price formula for determining the price of eggs and poultry meat.

This price formula has been prepared by a Committee consisting of the secretaries of the two relevant ministries. Department of Animal Production and Health Director General Dr. Hemali   Kothalawala said that until now, the price calculations were done by her department, but according to a decision made by the COPE Committee, the Price Formula will be determined jointly by her department and the Consumer Affairs Authority.
