Royal College Hockey Club clinch Bacon Cup Championship

Royal College Hockey Club overcame Old Zahirians in a penalty shoot out ( 5/4) in the knock out CHA “ B “ division final for the Bacon Cup, organised and conducted by the Colombo Hockey Association, played at the Astro Turf, Reid Avenue, Colombo 07 recently.

In the semi final, Royal College Hockey Club beat Old Anandians by 3 goals to 2 , while Old Zahirians beat Old Wesleyites by 1 goal to nil.

As the final between Royal College Hockey Club and Old Zahirians ended in a thrilling nil all draw at full time, the decision of the winner had to be decided on a penalty shoot, which Royal College Hockey Club got the better of Old Zahirians to pocket the Bacon Cup for the year 2022/’2023.
