The Government pays attention to provide justice to 31,000 people who were recruited according to the policy decision taken by the government to provide job opportunities in the government service for Grade 8 qualified individuals who were not successful in GCE Ordinary Level Examination from low-income families.
Minister of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government and Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena held a meeting with the Director General of the Department of Multi-Purpose Development Task Force Major General Nanda Mallavarachchi and officials of the Ministry of Public Administration in this regard on Monday.
At the discussion it was revealed that these employees have been working as trainees for about two years. The Prime Minister who paid attention to this matter instructed the Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration to take measures to assign these employees to other government institutions immediately.
The Prime Minister also instructed the officials of the Ministry to take necessary actions to confirm their appointments and to prepare the relevant Cabinet paper to get the approval for the same.
The meeting was attended by several officials including the Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government Neel Bandara Hapuhinna, Major General Nanda Mallavarachchi, Director General of the Department of Multi-Purpose Development Task Force, Additional Secretary of the Ministry Ranjith Ashoka, and the Director General of Combined Services S. Alokabandara.
