Launches ‘Khayal’ collection fashion show in Kandy

Sriyani Dress Point, one of Sri Lanka’s largest retailers of readymade garments with a humble beginning in 1993 is adding yet another jewel to its crown with the launch of ‘Khayal’ its latest line of occasion wear.

The family-run venture headed by its Founder and Chairman Mariyapillai Selvaraj, along with Directors Madushika Selvaraj, Dhinushika Selvaraj and Shabrajith Selvaraj. Sriyani Dress Point has expanded with eight showrooms currently in operation in Kegalle, Kurunegala, Matale, Kandy, Negombo and Ratnapura. It commenced with just four employees from Kegalle today, the brand has grown to be a major fashion retail chain and has over two thousand employees.

Director Dhinushika said, “The word ‘Khayal’ translates to fantasy and celebrations. Inspired by magical Indian weddings, we are launching a unique ceremonial and festive-fusion collection that is unrivalled in its decadence and one-of-a-kind artistry.”

The debut showcase Khayal’s first collection which will take place at the Earl’s Regency Hotel, Kandy on February 11.

Khayal features more than hundred, one-of-a-kind styles with modern silhouettes that cater to the bride, groom and wedding guests. The fashion show consists of segments of evening wear, occasion-worthy outfits, wedding guest attires and a stunning bridal collection for the finale.

Popular local clothing brand Moose Clothing, which has been showcasing its versatile casual clothing range at Sriyani Dress Point, has come on board as the main sponsor for this event. CEO of Moose Clothing Hasib Omar said, “Moose Clothing has always stepped up to support the local businesses over the years.”

Lassana Flora, will be the floral and decoration partner. Earl’s Regency, a premier five-star getaway among luxury hotels in Sri Lanka and one of the finest hotels in Kandy, will be the official hospitality and venue partner, while Haut Monde Event Management is the official event and PR partner.
