Man wanted for MC member’s murder arrested

A member of an organized crime gang, who was wanted in connection with the assassination of Ranjan Silva, a former member of the Dehiwala-Mt. Lavinia Municipal Council, has been arrested after four years, the Mt. Lavinia  Division Criminal Investigation Division said. The suspect Hettigoda Liyanage Malindu Lakmal alias “Tiger” was arrested on a tip off received by the OIC of the Criminal Investigation Division of Mount Lavina that he was directly involved in the murder and was staying near the Sayurupura apartment complex in Angulana. Police said that the suspect is a close relative of Sinhara Amal Saminda Silva alias Kudu Anjuge, an organized criminal abroad and acts as his chief associate.
