Police SC’s dynamic fly half Yohan Peiris produced an outstanding performance to emerge as the top points scorer in the sixth week of matches of the SLR Nippon Paint Inter-Club League Rugby Tournament.

The Police SC playmaker delivered a match winning performance as he contributed a total of 11 points through one try and three conversions to spearhead his team to a stunning 21-19 victory over the favourites Havelock SC last week.

Despite performing under tremendous pressure, Yohan was on target with both tries in the first half and then grabbed the opportunity to score a decisive converted try in the second half to complete a memorable outing.

Yohan has so far collected a total of 28 points for Police SC this season through one try, seven conversions and three penalties.

Meanwhile, CR and FC’s dashing fly half Chathura Seneviratne also had an equally brilliant game last week where he contributed a total of 11 points in the match against Navy SC at Longden Place.

Seneviratne kept his reputation as one of the most reliable place-kickers of the tournament with another sterling performance where he booted three vital penalties and converted one try during a match winning performance.

In fact, Seneviratne has already left a lasting impression this season with his booming kicks where he has accumulated a total of 53 points through one try, six conversions and 12 penalties.

Kandy SC’s versatile fly half Tharinda Ratwatte was also in good form last week as he played a decisive role during their close 27-25 victory over CH and FC at the Racecourse Grounds in Colombo.

Ratwatte made his presence felt early in the game with a superb try in the 10th minute, added the extra points to Kandy SC’s third try and then followed up with a neat penalty in the second half that summoned up his valuable contributions for the defending champions.

Ratwatte is also the second highest points scorer of the tournament with a tally of 56 points under his belt having scored four tries in addition to 12 conversions and putting over four penalties.

The other significant individual contributions during the sixth week of matches came from CH and FC’s Yoshitha Rajapaksa (two tries) against Kandy SC and Air Force SC’s Kaushan Milinda (two tries) against Army SC at Panagoda.
