Dhammissara National School Nattandiya which is famous for Volleyball has now come to the fore in school cricket too. In the under 19 division three finals they beat more fancied Lalith Athulathmudali College Mt. Lavinia by 85 runs in the final to clinch the Trophy. The tournament was conducted by Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association.
They have commenced organized school cricket in 1983 when K.M-P.Ranaweera was at the helm of the school and the first MIC was Mr. Randeni and the coach was Xavier Femando. At the inception they have received fullest support from the former Chairman of the Puttalam District Ladies Cricket Association Mrs.Gwen Herath and from 1995 to 2002 the MIC was Channa Jayasekera and the coaches in time to time were Damien Femando, Tharanga Liyanapathirana, Nuwan Ruchira, Rohitha Kumarasinghe and presently Chaluka Heshan.
Since 2007 to 2017 they have participated in the under 13, 15 and 17 tournaments and in 2018 an under 19 team participated at all island tourney. Former principals Saman Wijesinghe, M.S.Bandara, Ranty Silva, E.A.Jayatissa, Saman Wijesekera, Sumathipala Silva, Anil Pushpakumara and presently Niel Siyambalapitiya have extended their fullest corporation in time to time and Prefects of Games are Mrs.Wimala Piyaseeli, Mrs.Praba Priyadarshani and Mrs.Nilmini Rodrigo.
Since 1998 to 2018 their under 15 and under 17 teams have performed well in the tournaments conducted by SLSCA and in 2022/2023 they are the All Island under 19 division three unbeaten champions and captained by Anuka Shavinda Aponso.
