Death of Mrs. Y. P. de Silva

Mrs. Dulcy de Silva, wife of late Y.P. de Silva, former Sri Lanka Mahajana Party President and former Deputy Minister passed away at her residence yesterday.

Mrs. De Silva, a lifelong women's and civil activist and leftist politician, was the Former Vice President of the World Federation of Trade Unions and the President of World Federation of Trade Unions-Asia Pacific.

She was also the co-founder of the Mothers and Daughters of Sri Lanka organization and a member of the National Peace movement, advocating for peace and reconciliation throughout her life and career. Her remains lie at the Jayaratne Funeral Parlour, Borella. Cremation will be held today (Saturday) evening.
