Two women found dead in Deraniyagala

The police found the bodies of two sisters who died mysteriously in a house in Maldeniya, Deraniyagala.

The Deraniyagala Police stated that the deceased were 51-year-old and 49-year-old sisters who lived in that house.

A 86-year-old mother had lived in that house. The police said that this woman had been admitted to Deraniyagala Hospital in critical condition. A senior police officer said that her condition was good in the evening.

Investigations have revealed that the deceased elder sister was suffering from a mental illness. The police suspect that these two died a few days ago.Villagers, had informed the 119 police emergency about the deaths after inspecting the house due to unbearable odour emanating from the house for a few days.
