A father of the Pol Ambegoda area in Aranayake has committed suicide by hanging himself with his little daughter and son due to a family dispute.
Their bodies were found in an Ambalama in the middle of a paddy field in Godigamuwa, Pol Ambegoda in the Aranayaka Police area.
A 30-year-old father, his 6-year-old daughter and 9-year-old son have died. Their bodies were found by the Aranayaka Police yesterday morning through a phone call received by the Police.
The Police suspect that the murder may have taken place in the middle of the night or in the early hours of the morning. The children’s mother’s house is also located a kilometre away from that place. The 33-year-old father was found hanging from the main beam of the Ambalama and the two children were seen on the ground where the father was hanging. There were two other ropes near the rope where the father was hanging and these ropes were broken. One rope was seen near the foot of the dead daughter. The children’s shoes and the father’s shoes were kept in the same place and a mobile phone was also seen in the place.
