The British School in Colombo (BSC) recently showcased its commitment to discovering and nurturing the talents of its students through two successful events.

Firstly, the BSC Theatre unveiled its production of the award-winning verbal and visual comedy ‘One Man, Two Guvnors’. Despite facing COVID-19 related interruptions, the cast of over 25 actors from the senior school at BSC delighted a packed audience with their performance, showcasing excellent teamwork and a huge amount of talent on the stage. The play was a testament to the hard work and dedication of the entire crew, who worked tirelessly to put on a show-stopping performance.

Secondly, BSC celebrated World Book Day 2023 with a special programme under the theme ‘Meet an Author’. The interactive session featured a talk on creative writing and literature by Dr.MadhubhashiniDisanayaka Ratnayake, a Senior Lecturer and Former Head of the English Department at Sri Jayewardenepura University. Dr.Madhubhashini inspired the students to cultivate a habit of reading from a young age, and encouraged them to pursue writing as a possible profession in the future. The event was a wonderful opportunity for students to engage with an accomplished author and learn more about the power of literature.

These two events highlight the BSC’s dedication to providing a well-rounded education for its students, one that fosters creativity, teamwork, and a love for the arts.
