Police use water cannons and tear gas on anti-SAITM protesters

Police fired water cannons and tear gas to disperse anti-SAITM protesters who were blocking roads in Kollupitiya today.

The protesters were demanding the protection of state education and the abolishing of SAITM.

These hooligans from Rajarata (LW) come for their monthly free bath. Their nirvana is the traffic jam. Must make them plough fields and grow crops since they are in the wrong place trying to study, LW from 2011

We were not aware that this much of Buddhist monks are doing medicine in the government universities. This is a very good trend for the betterment of future patients of the country. But where are the medical students ? We did not see any student who look like future doctors. Are they at home???
