It is an unbearable shock to lose my son to the world in an accident caused by a drugged driver when he was in America to complete his PhD, and it is an irreparable loss, said lawyer Chamani Vijayananda,
the mother of Vinoj Yasanga Jayasundara, who died in the accident.
She said this after bringing the body of her only son,Vinoj Yasanga Jayasundara, who died in a car accident in Vancouver, Canada on June 22 while he was in America for a doctorate degree, from Canada to his home in Mattegoda Nadun Uyana, 19 days after the accident.
Vinoj Yasanga was a 28 years old resident of Mattegoda.
He faced this accident when he was enrolled in the University of Maryland, USA, to obtain a doctorate after obtaining a degree in Electronic Engineering and Information Technology from the Moratuwa University.
The young man died on the spot and another friend who was travelling with him is currently in critical condition.
