The Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) will conduct its first ever Air Show and the Defence Exhibition ‘CADE24’ on a grand scale at the Port City Colombo from May 29- June 2.
Local and international stakeholders of the Defence industry and domestic and international pioneers of the Airlines and associated industries will participate, to provide the public with a novel experience, said SLAF Commander Air Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa.
The main objectives of the event are showcasing air power and air diplomacy, promoting tourism and investments in the country, enhancing the image and reputation of the SLAF and providing opportunities for career seekers, he pointed out.
The five-day event will comprise local and international Air Shows, aerial demonstrations, tandem jumps, defence industry exhibition, knowledge sharing platforms, promotional stalls, mega musical nights, adventure and helicopter rides, international food festival, fashion shows and performances, drone and laser shows and game zones.
It will be open to the public from 9 am to 12 midnight every day, and the visitors will have the opportunity to obtain an international level experience.
The entire event will be sponsorsed by the stakeholders and merchant partners and is supported by the Ministries of Defence, Foreign Affairs and Tourism and the Board of Investments of Sri Lanka, the SLAF Commander said.
