Four state ministers assigned state institutions

 Extraordinary gazette notifications were issued recently assigning state institutions and responsibilities to four state ministers.

 Accordingly State Ministers John Seneviratne, Shehan Semasinghe, Duminda Dissanayake and Ranjith Siyambalapitiya have been each entrusted with several state institutions.

State Minister John Seneviratne has been delegated the duties and functions of the Department of National Policy, Department of Public Enterprises, Department of Trade and Investment, Department of Census and Statistics, Department of Valuation, Department of Registration of Companies, Department of Commerce and Sustainable Development Council which are under the Prime Minister's Ministry of Finance, Economy and Policy Development.  

Shehan Semasinghe has been tasked duties of the State Minister for Development Bank and Loan Schemes has been assigned the Department of Development Finance, Credit Information Bureau, Export Insurance Board Rural Development Bank and Housing Development Finance Corporation.

The National Youth Services Council, National Youth Service Standard Authority, National Youth Services Cooperative Leadership Development Institute and Smart Sri Lanka institute which are under the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth Affairs were assigned to State Minister Duminda Dissanayake, while State Minister of Education Services Ranjith Siyambalapitiya has been assigned with the Department of Educational Publications, Sri Lanka Publication Development Bureau, National Library and Documentation Services Board, Pirivena Board of Education and the State Printing Corporation.

The gazette notifications have been issued by Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and Minister of Education, Sports and Youth Affairs Dullas Alahapperuma dated December 31, 2019.
