Speaking at the press conference, MP Sumedha G. Jayasena despite winning 25% of female representation in local government, provincial council for parliamentary representation, given that the percentage is not brought forward through the candidate list of the Party, Party Leaders should focus on including more female candidates in the candidate lists..

MP Rohini Kumari Wijerathna stated that within the current electoral system, it is a big challenge for a female candidate to contest the election because women cannot engage in distributing money, liquor and other items which are the tactics that male candidates use to win the election.
