Puttalam Zahira National College Old boys Association (1980 G.C.E Ordinary Level) "80' s Zahirians Heroes" organization recently donated its first batch of donations to the school.
At a cost of about Rs. 395,000, the damaged 100 feet long perimeter wall of the school was completed and handed over to the school with the financial assistance of the members.
The 80's Zahirians Heroes Old Boys Organization was formed on October 18, 2020. The present Principal of the College, H Abdul Jabbar, is a member.
The formation of this merger after about 40 years has caused great excitement and welcome among the alumni of the school.
M U M Sanoon Media Officer, led the event with self-prayer and the national anthem, led by M S M Mohideen and A R M Fawas, co-chairs of the organization.
Following the keynote address by M S M Mohideen, one of the co-chairs, the organization's adviser, Ashsheik M H M Muneer, Principal H A Jabbr addressed the gathering.
One of the songs that contributed to the formation of this old boys group was broadcast.
The note of thanks was delivered by N M Rasmi, Secretary, School Development Association.
As a final event, the imitation monument of the constructed perimeter wall was handed over to the Chancellor by the members and the memorial crystal engraved on the wall was officially unveiled and handed over to the Chancellor by another consultant Ashshek H M Minhaj in the presence of all the alumni and members.
A cake made by a member of the organization, Askar Murat, was cut and served and a memento was handed over to the principal by S M Ihtiyas for the satisfaction of completing the wall contract.
The event was attended by the School Old boys Association Secretary Engineer H S Nabras and its members, the School Development Association Secretary N M Rasmi and its members, as well as many representatives of the Old Boys groups and members of the School Management Committee.
