The Department of Meteorology states that the Heat Index is likely to reach the Extreme Caution level.
The Heat Index, the temperature felt on the human body is expected to reach the extreme cautious level at some places in the Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, Trincomalee, Batticaloa Mullaitivu and Vavuniya districts.
The heat indexes of these areas may reach a ‘Extreme caution’ level. The extreme caution level records temperatures ranging between 32-41 Celsius degrees.
According to the notice, people living in areas under “caution” level, would experience fatigue with prolonged exposure and activity.
Continuing activity could result in heat cramps, it said.
