Heads to decide on number of employees in office

The Public Administration Ministry will issue a circular today delegating powers to the Heads of Government institutions to decide on the number of employees who should come to office.

According to Public Services, Provincial Councils and Local Government Ministry sources, the circular issued instructions on limiting the physical presence of employees in Government bodies in view of the Covid 19 situation in the country.

He said that respective heads of departments will be allowed to bring employees to office two or three days a week and the rest will have to work online from home.

The employees’ presence in all Government institutions were limited with the onset of the first and second wave of Covid 19 pandemic and the Government employees resumed normal duties after the pandemic on March 8.

Meanwhile, Army Commander General Shavendra Silva yesterday said that the Dambulla Dedicated Economic Centre will be isolated for two weeks

He also said that four Grama Niladhari divisions in the Gampaha and Kalutara districts have been isolated with effect from yesterday night.

Accordingly Polhena, Heeralugedara, Kaluaggala in the Kotadeniyawa Police Division and Aswennawatta East Grama Niladhari divisions in the Minuwangoda Police division have been isolated from yesterday night.

Three GN divisions in the Meegahathenna Police Division namely Miriswatta, Pelawatta North and East have been isolated from yesterday night.

One Grama Niladhari division in the Trincomalee district has also been isolated from yesterday.
