Schools island wide closed till April 30

All schools islandwide will be closed till April 30, said the Minister Keheliya Rambukwella.

All schools, pre-schools and Pirivenas closed till April 30

Education Minister Prof.G.L. Peiris said all schools, pre-schools and Pirivenas in the country will be closed till April 30.

The Minister said that a decision will be taken with regard of commencing schools on May 3 after a discussion with health authorities, provincial education directors and principals.

He said the government always gives priority to the healthcare of children when taking decisions regarding the schools while also emphasizing the importance of strictly following health guidelines within schools.
