Dengue has spread in the Hambantota District, Regional Director of Health Services Dr. Deepika Patabedige said.
She said that steps have been taken to educate the public on the disease.
Dr. Patabedige said dengue is often detected with high fever, aches joint pains and red patches on the skin. She said that it is important to consult immediately a doctor at a Government hospital and obtain treatment if anyone shows the symptoms.
