Youth and Sports Affairs Minister Namal Rajapaksa stated that the government cannot determine the number of doses needed to be administered to an individual and such decisions are made only by health experts.

Speaking to the media in Kandy yesterday (1), the Minister said that the health sector decides if getting only one dose builds the required immunity and if anyone is not satisfied with the process or the vaccine dose they can refuse to take it.

He further said that the vaccination process in Sri Lanka is carried out in accordance with the accepted methods in the world and all activities are carried out after giving a good understanding to the people in this regard. The Minister further pointed out that it was mandatory to sign a form stating that one had no objection to receiving the vaccine. He also stated that if there is any problem the person can inquire about any issue from a doctor at the vaccination centre. He stated that in comparison to other countries, Sri Lanka is at the forefront in vaccinating its citizens.
