‘Ministry set up for Pre-Schools’

Steps have been taken by the Government to maintain the education level of Pre-Schools and the Early Childhood Development Centres, which had been neglected by the previous regime and a separated Ministry was set up in this regard, State Services, Provincial Councils and Local Government Minister Janaka Bandara Tennakoon said.

The Minister was addressing a gathering of pre-school teachers at the Dambulla Divisional Secretariat recently.

He said that the Pre-School Education is very vital as it is the foundation of the children’s education. Therefore, attention should be paid on this matter than before. In the meantime, the Government has decided to give them a Rs.2,500 monthly allowance, which was Rs.250 earlier.

The Minister said that the basic facilities for the Pre-Schools to promote their standard will be provided soon as the children’s education is the most important for the future world..

The Government will build up a skilled future generation. Equal education for every child is vital and that the Government has planned to launch a systematical educational method all over the country, Minister said Parliamentarian Pramitha Bandara Tennakoon and Dambulla Divisional Secretary Piyal Weerasuriya participated.
