Head of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID 19 and Army Commander General Shavendra Silva said there were no plans to impose strict travel restrictions in the country despite a long holiday over the weekend in the offing.
The Army Commander said that only the existing provincial travel restrictions will be in force.
Police Media Spokesman, Senior DIG Ajith Rohana meanwhile stated that persons attempting to enter and leave the Western Province in violation of travel restrictions will be diverted and special police teams will be deployed at all provincial borders on weekends.
