Man remanded for jewellery theft

Dambulla District Magistrate Chamila Rathnayaka remanded a man for stealing jewellery worth Rs.238,000 from a house in Madipola, recently.

Police had arrested the suspect three weeks after the crime, following a tip-off. By then, the man had pawned the jewellery. The suspect’s bail was set at Rs.100,000.
