Sri Lanka Skipper Dasun Shanaka urged his batsmen to change their mindset and the approach to the game, in an attempt to pull off a consolation win in the third and final T20 International against South Africa at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo today.

Sri Lanka were skittle out for a paltry 103 runs in the second T20I on Sunday as they conceded the three-match series to the visitors having earlier lost the first T20I by 28 runs.

“We will have to come up with a better plan in the next game. It's our approach and mindset that need to change in the T20s. We should have a strong mindset and we need to have a belief in the team,” Shanaka emphasised.

The Sri Lanka Captain also urged his batsmen to focus on the game properly and try to rotate the strike more, especially in the middle overs.

“The batsmen should concentrate more on the game as we were not able to capitalise on the good start in the second T20I. Our batsmen need to rotate the strike more,” Shanaka revealed.

The Sri Lankan Captain also noted that the team has been struggling in the middle overs for a long period and it is high time they change that.

“We have to change our approach. The batting in the middle period has been a concern for a long period, consistently for 2-3 years. It's a major part of the concern,” he added. (C.D)
