Garlic fiasco: Four Sathosa officials suspended

Four Sathosa officials have been suspended over the incident of selling two containers with 54,000 kgs of garlic belonging to Lanka Sathosa to a third party without permission.

This illegal transaction had taken place last week.

The Trade Ministry in a press release said Trade Minister Dr.Bandula Gunawardana instructed to suspend the service of the officials who were involved in this transaction. He also instructed the Sathosa Chairman to lodge a complaint with the CID.
