Trains can ply after October 1

Sri Lanka Railways General Manager Dhammika Jayasundara said trains can ply adhering to health guidelines, if health authorities decide to lift the current travel restrictions after October 1.

“Several trains not operating for a long time due to the travel restrictions had trial runs to examine their condition with the aim of adding them to the fleet soon after lifting the lockdown,” the GMR said.

“Train time tables have already been prepared and long distance train services can be operated if the country is opened once again,” he added.
