Six die of COVID at Karapitiya within 24 hours

Six COVID deaths have been reported from the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital within the past 24 hours. During the same period, 23 COVID patients have been admitted to the Hospital, its Acting Director Shelton Perera said.

Three of the six deaths had been reported from the hospital and the rest had been brought to the hospital from residences, the Acting Director said.

Dr. Shelton Perera also said that 198 of the medical staffers had COVID positive since August.
