Three arrested for forging driving licenses

The Wewelwatta Police on Thursday arrested three suspects in a raid conducted in the Batewela area in the Wewelwatta Police Division for forging driving licenses.

The suspects were arrested while in the possession of two forged driving licenses similar to the temporary driving licenses issued by the Department of Motor Traffic.

The arrested suspects are aged 42, 44 and 34 and are residents of the Wewelwatta and Gallella areas.

The arrested suspects have been handed over to the Ratnapura Special Crime Investigation Division for further investigations to ascertain how many such fake licenses were made and to whom they were issued.
