Mobile phone found in Ranjan Ramanayake's possession

Prison officials has seized a mobile phone from former Samagi Jana Balawegaya MP Ranjan Ramanayake who is currently at the Welikada Prison Hospital. 

 

Former Member of Parliament Ranjan Ramanayake, who was convicted of Contempt of Court and was serving time at the Angunakolapelessa Prison was brought to Colombo recently to treat a knee ailment.

 

During a search of the prison hospital at around 10pm last night (21), prison officers on duty seized the mobile phone and a hand free set from Ramanayake’s possession.

 

Ranjan Ramanayake was admitted to the Karapitiya General Hospital in Galle with a knee ailment on November 10 from the Angunakolapelessa Prison and later transferred to the Colombo National Hospital on the advice of the doctors at Karapitiya. Later he was admitted to the Welikada Prison’s hospital.
