Trincomalee District MP Mohammed Imran, at a press conference in Colombo on Saturday, said “people focus on the position of party leaders and Parliamentarians of the Muslim parties such as Sri Lanka Muslim Congress and All Ceylon People’s Congress on the Budget submitted by the Government.”
“In all votes, especially the 20th Amendment, Muslim Party leaders voted against the Government and other Members of Parliament voted in favour of the Government. Even some ruling party members are against this Budget. As I said in Parliament, this Budget is like marrying an old woman,” he said.
In this Budget vote, disciplinary action must be taken against Party members who go against the chairman.
They must be expelled from the party. If not, he said, it would be an act of turning people into Maoists.
