Drunk suspects trying to climb Sri Pada arrested

A total of 458 persons who were under influence of liquor and drugs were arrested by Hatton Police during past 10 days while they were about to climb the holy mountain of Sri Pada.

A total of 290 suspects were from Kurunegala town.

Five hundred police officers are now deployed to arrest anyone under the influence of liquor who tries to climb Sri Pada, said Kurunegala ASP J. Amaratunga, yesterday
