Website of Help Icon launched

State Minister of Primary Health Care, Epidemics and Covid Disease Control Dr. Sudarshini Fernandopulle launches the website of the Help Icon social welfare organization.

The official website of the Help Icon social welfare organization was launched on Wednesday (19) at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute under the patronage of State Minister of Primary Health Care, Epidemics and Covid Disease Control Dr. Sudarshini Fernandopulle.

The website aims to spread the value of education to future generations, to help young people reach their goals, to empower young people with knowledge, and to conduct seminars and workshops to provide them with career guidance and workshops aimed at promoting unity among the youth and helping the needy.

The website www.helpicon.lk was launched with a number of CSR initiatives that enable anyone around the world to join the organization through the website. This has made it possible for people to join the Help Icon organization as volunteers or donors.

Help Icon is a website that allows anyone to view and manage CSR projects in all three languages.

Manusath Derana Project Chairman Mahesh Jayawardena and Lake House Deputy General Manager (Advertising) Prasanna Jayasundara joined the State Minister to launch the website.

Simultaneously, a number of CSR programmes were launched and the Help Icon organization donated funds for the construction of a fully equipped house for a disabled war hero. It was handed over to the Seva Vanitha unit of the Sri Lanka Army General Service Regiment and the State Minister was accompanied by Help Icon Chairman Priyadarshana Bentotaarachchi and General Secretary Thusitha Jayawardena.

Arrangements were also made to donate a special patient chair used for those receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit to the Maharagama Apeksha Hospital after the operation. The special chair was handed over to State Minister Fernandopulle by Help Icon Chairman Bentotaarachchi and General Secretary Jayawardena.

Four wheelchairs were also donated by Help Icon and State Minister Fernandopulle handed over the wheelchairs to the relatives of four patients in need. Secretary to the Ministry of Primary Health Care, Epidemics and Covid Disease Control Sunethra Gunawardena was also present.

According to the programme implemented to provide school books to the children of low-income families under the Help Icon Sip Nena Saviya project, complete book kits for 10 children were distributed symbolizing the distribution of school books to 102 students of Attygalle Kanishta Vidyalaya, Hanwella,. Amal Pussellage, District 306C1 President of the International Club, Lalith Piyum Perera, Chairman of the National Lotteries Board and Kula Sri Kariyawasam, senior journalist also joined this event.

Herbline donated Rs. 1 million to strengthen Help Icon’s CSR projects and it was handed over by Herbline Operations Director Sanjeewa Ganegoda to Help Icon General Secretary Jayawardena.

The event was attended by the heads of a number of public and private institutions and teachers, parents and children.
