Barcelona Inter-academy soccer tournament a success

The Barcelona Football Academy conducted its fifth inter academy soccer tournament recently with the participation of 20 teams from eight academies. The boy’s category competed in the under-12, 14,16 and 18 age groups while the girls were confronted in the under-14 age group. This popular tournament conducted by Barcelona Football Academy provided children from non-privileged schools where the football is not dribbled.

These children were able to play the game through their respective academies. The one whole day tournament was played at the Race Course ground and was tagged as ‘Sports Ministers Cup’. Shiranthi Rajapaksa wife of Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa graced the occasion as chief guest and gave away the awards.
