Sancharaka Udawa 10th edition to be held on May 20-21

The 10th edition of Sancharaka Udawa, Sri Lanka’s premier travel and tourism exhibition organised by Sri Lanka Association of Inbound Tour Operators will be held on May 20-21 at the BMICH.

The primary objective of the event is to provide an ideal platform for small and individual service providers in the region to create much needed links with the large travel players as well as public and private sector officials in the tourism industry under one roof, says Imran Hassan ,CEO/Managing Director, CDS Events.

He expressed these views at a press briefing held in Colombo yesterday (31) to announce the launch of ‘Sancharaka Udawa’. This year’s event will host over 200 exhibitors and stalls will be provided free of charge to the Department of Wildlife Conservation, Tourist Police, Central Cultural Fund and others. In addition complementary stalls will be provided to the universities of Colombo, Uva, Wellassa, Kelaniya , Rajarata and Sabaragamuwa.

Speaking at the event, Padma Siriwardana, Managing Director, Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau emphasised the need for Sri Lanka Tourism to have better tourism products and services to garner more benefits.

Siriwardana said further that this event offers a vital platform for business to business ( B2B) and business to customer (B2C) sectors.
