Punish Galle Face protest site attackers - UNP

UNP Deputy Leader Ruwan Wijewardene said that action should be taken against those who were involved in the brutal attack on peaceful protesters opposite the Temple Trees and the Presidential Secretariat on Monday.

For more than 30 days, young people, civil activists and peaceful people protested in front of the Presidential Secretariat at Galle Face. They introduced a new culture to the struggle, Wijewardene said.

The protests held opposite the Temple Trees and the Presidential Secretariat were very peaceful.

In this backdrop, SLPP supporters had come to Temple Trees to express solidarity with the former Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa

The groups that dispersed from there did not behave like ordinary people. These inhumane attacks by government thugs were broadcast live on the media, adding a black mark to Sri Lanka in the eyes of the international community
