Condolence Motion for slain MP postponed

Adjournment Debate in Parliament on the Destruction caused to Public and Private Property in protestors’ attack, which commenced on Tuesday (17), was decided to continue for four days.

Although the Committee on Parliamentary Business decided on Tuesday to take the Adjournment Motion on 17 and 18, later it was decided to continue on 19 and then even today (20).

The Condolence Motion on the death of Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) Parliamentarian Amarakeerthi Athukorala, who was murdered on May 9 by the protestors would not be taken up today (20), as it was decided by the Committee on Parliamentary Business on Tuesday. The day on which the Condolence Motion will be held will be notified later.
